Ultimate Challenge Outreach Nothing is Impossible
The idea is to set up many challenges for teens to participate in (a climbing or scaling wall, dunk tank, obstacle course, radar gun baseball throw, sumo wrestling, four-way volleyball, etc.) and then have a gospel presentation geared towards teens and give them “The Ultimate Challenge.” This can be started as an outreach programme to Canvey Island Youths as an outreach program for the area.
It is not always what it seems Outreach Programme
Decorate the church like a restaurant (or get an actual restaurant if you have a contact). Give church youths menus …but with creative names of things they’ve never heard of. Give the foods and drinks new names. Order “Big Macdonalds” and get KFC. Order “King Prawn Fried Rice” and get dry toast. Some things might sound really good, but they aren’t. And some might not sound good, but are …they will just have to wait and see. Note: Sometimes youths will get discouraged with what they ordered, so it’s nice to have a main course that everyone can enjoy.
This is a great door opener to talking about “it’s not always what it seems.” Just because something looks good or sounds good doesn’t always mean it is good. We can be fooled so easily, especially since the world is so good at covering it up.
Dancing Competition Outreach Programme
Organize an event and sent out flyers to all the local high schools. Book a DJ and some good dancers who will teach the youths some funky new dances. Create a coffee area where free coffee, tea and other drinks are available and have dance music playing and break dancers with guys rapping. Get a Youth Guest Preacher to share the gospel after a very thought provoking drama.
